Thank you for joining us for a mindful walk at Carfest 2024
Introducing mindfulness into our daily walks allow us to clear our heads and gives us the time we need to be present. We develop skills that enable us to use a simple walk to improve our mood, reduce stress, support a positive mindset, and help us with problem solving.

As with any meditation, it may take time to become familiar with the techniques.
​
The script below can be used as a guide; you may find it useful to record your own audio. A pre recorded audio is also available below if you prefer.

while standing pay attention to your feet. notice your balance and adjustments

start walking

as you walk notice the whole stepping process, bring your attention to the motion through your feet and ankles.

move your attention up your legs, to knees, thighs and hips.

as you move your attention pause as long as you wish. hold attention until awareness is solely on that part of your body.

gradually at your pace move your attention up your body, pausing where you want to, don't feel you need to complete the process.

notice both pleasant and unpleasant experiences without judgement - just observe

observe emotions and thoughts as they arrive, acknowledge don't judge and let them fade away.

stop walking, bring your attention back to your feet. spend a little time in appreciation of what it felt like to be aware of your self during this walk.
