About the event

This classic Three Peaks event is a circular walk of 24 miles over the 3 highest peaks in Yorkshire and to succeed you need to complete this in 12 hours.

This is a significant challenge. 24 miles taking in three major peaks in the Yorkshire Dales, Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough with an overall climb of over 5,200ft. The challenge is to complete the circular route from Horton in Ribblesdale within 12 hours.

This is a full day's walk, ascents are steep and long, the route is well marked and easy to follow but, it is normal to experience all seasons in one day.

Peak 1 - Pen-Y-Ghent - a short walk out of Horton and we are straight into our first short but steep climb to the summit at 2,277ft

Peak 2 - Whernside - the highest of the three peaks, the incline starts at the famous Ribblehead Viaduct and gradually climbs to the summit at 2,415 ft

Peak 3 – Ingleborough our final and steepest challenge to the summit at 2,372ft and after already bagging 2 peaks this will be a struggle for everyone. The long descent back into Horton will test our tired legs and sore feet.
